Doris Carbert was asked by Quilts of Valour - Canada to write the pattern for this quilt after she designed it to make with the Fly by Night Quilters group from Wellspring Niagara which she belongs to. (They are cancer patients and support volunteers who come together to create these quilted artworks as well as network and share about cancer). They made this quilt for QOV - Canada with a presentation pillowcase from the Inukshuk fabric from the Oh Canada collection. Click here to see the collection.

This quilt is special to Doris as it will be presented to her cousin's son, Justin Benoit, a third generation member of the Royal 22é Regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces. He has served 2 tours in Afghanistan and is about to deploy for six months in Poland.
