A bit about Laurie: She lived in Italy near Venice, when she was a nurse in the Air Force, and used to go there all the time to wander around and take pictures. She is a painter and says, “You can't run out of inspiration in that city!” San Marco Basilica was her favorite place to visit. The entire inside of the church is mosaics. She knew eventually she would make something with her pictures from this church. Many years later she saw Stonehenge fabrics and knew they would be perfect to make a quilt! Laurie design patterns, but this one was very complicated. She decided it had to be a show quilt. It was a tremendous amount of work, but well worth it as you can see!
