Some people are simply driven to draw and paint what they see around them. Lorraine is one of them. she began as a small child and have been an artist all of her life. She is an honors graduate of Parsons School of Design, and has studied fine arts as well at the Art Students League of New York.
Lorraine has had a number of one-woman shows in New York and Connecticut, and has received awards in Juried exhibitions. Over the years her fine art paintings have been collected in the U. S. and the U.K., and reproduced as posters and greeting cards, sold worldwide. Some of her paintings are now reproduced in iris giclee, limited edition, prints. In 2005 Lorraine was honored to be juried into the prestigious Mystic Seaport's 26th Annual International Marine Art Exhibition, with her painting “It’s A Keeper.”
Lorraine's acrylics and watercolors range from large complex still lifes—to landscapes—to lush florals—to coastal/seascapes—to portraits of people, animals and homes. Her current focus is Connecticut farms and barns, and she hopes to raise awareness to their rapid disappearance.
"I have never indulged in abstract intellectual notions of art, but rather I have merely tried to capture the things I enjoy observing, while hopefully sharing these observations with others".
