Kathy has been a life-long artist. After four years of art university study, she began working as an illustrator for a multi-media children's education company. A move into the field of graphic design opened up a whole new world, and after several years of working in both concentrations her signature style emerged, a combination of whimsical illustration with an offbeat but crisp design aesthetic. In addition to her graphic design career, Kathy's ink-and-watercolor custom pet portraits have garnered positive reviews from publications such as The National Post, The Boston Globe, Life magazine and PamperedPuppy.com. Also a children's illustrator, Kathy is published in both trade and educational markets and has worked with publishers such as Scholastic, Macmillan, HMHarcourt, and Oxford University Press.
These days, Kathy pours all of her entrepreneurial energies into WellerWishes, her illustration and design company through which she enjoys forging partnerships with manufacturers who apply her unique art collections and creative concepts to all kinds of products. Now working with Northcott, Kathy looks forward to a future of producing charming and unforgettable fabric collections for the quilting and novelty sewing markets.
