Lisa Conlin

Lisa can’t remember a time when she didn’t have a pencil or paint brush in her hand. Art has been a constant in her life.

She grew up in New York, and later in New Jersey, where Manhattan was only a short car ride away. There she was constantly exposed to, and influenced by, the wonders of the city and all of the museums and art it had to offer. These experiences ignited her love for art and continues to inspire her today.

Many of her collections focus on nature. She feels blessed to see beauty, recreate it, and share it. Her mediums include watercolor, color pencil, and gouache. Working both in bright colored palettes that make one feel happy, to soft, subtle palettes that exude a calmness. Her collections are not all nature though. She paints what she is passionate about at the time, coffee and wine collections are no exception - after all she is a mother of two!

In bits and pieces of her everyday life you can find a lampshade, a switch plate, stained glass, or a mural she has made to adorn her home. She always has something brewing as she combines her art with product.

She earned her BFA in Illustration from the University of Hartford Art School in 1990. She began her career as an Illustrator and Animator for an educational software company. Later she became a founding member of Funnybone Interactive where she designed and produced award-winning products for children. Starting with 6 people, her company grew to over 100 and as an Executive Producer and Art Director she worked with clients including Mattel, Warner Bros., Fisher-Price and Knowledge Adventure.

In 2000, after the birth of her first child she decided to stay home to enjoy her time as a Mom. During this time she has worked with many clients freelancing logos, websites, illustrations and newsletters, as well as consulting in marketing and teaching countless art classes. All the while painting and drawing to constantly expand her creative talents.

Her studio, which she lovingly calls Binks Studio, (Bink was her childhood nickname), is nestled in the attic of her home that she shares with her wonderful golf obsessed husband, her ginormous dog, and her two beautiful, spunky girls who inspire her every day.
